Jaime comes from a family rich in aviation history and tradition. Both her father and grandfather are pilots. Jaime grew up in a hangar. Instead of reading library books she read log books. Instead of playing with dolls she played with directional gyros. Jaime wants people to know she is not your typical aircraft broker.
Jaime cut her teeth in this industry while working at her father’s company, Air Cover, Inc. At age eighteen, Jaime began custom designing the interiors of aircraft and designing the exterior paint schemes to match. She became an expert. Planes were torn apart and rebuilt under her nose. Jaime has consulted with such clients as Patty Wagstaff, Bob Seeger, and Kid Rock. Then in late 2002, Jaime decided it was time to spread her wings, and to leave the family nest in order to realize her own dreams.
Thus, the birth of Steel Aviation, Inc. A company Jaime runs on her own terms, by strong principles, and with extremely high standards of business ethics.
Starting the company with a credit card and with no "formal" business training. Steel Aviation had all of the right ingredients for failure. However if you have ever met Jaime you will know that was never an option. Several years later she looks back and laughs at all of the lessons learned.
